Last weekend, Patrick gave me the skinny on the Trans Wisconsin Adventure Trail - the green part of the map. It's a documented path from Dubuque to the Apostle Islands on scenic pavement, gravel and ATV trails. I wanna ride it, as soon as I have bike that's more dirt-worthy.

Um yeah....I second that notion...at least the part about riding it, not so much the part about needing a dirtworthy bike:-)
Ben, I had the same tires on my KLR as your GS when I did about 40 miles of it last Fall.
Just bump up the preload on those shocks and go.

That is the big problem Patrick...my front forks are crap. I have an upgrade in the garage but haven't gotten around to it yet..
I think the VFR would fit the bill!
