easily distracted...
So, I should be working right now, but well...
Anyways, I know Ben and I have talked about 'em before, but I've always been a huge fan of the Honda Hawk (RC30). It's a bad ass bike. Even badder when done up in my favorite style. beat to shit race bike with no regard to purist cliche'.
Bottom image from Sideburn (Stevie Cole) and top is from internet randomness.
I like the bottom myself...
me want one.

Forever rotten.
Rolled down to Chicago last night for the Forever Rotten Art show. Had a blast. Perfect night for riding...went barreling down there going 80 most of the way and made it there a little after 7 or so. Hit a little rain right out side of Chicago but it lasted only minutes. My boy JMS showed up and we drank the cheap PBR they had, looked at pictures and talked with the artists. Probably one of the best times I've had in a while. JMS offered me a bed to crash in at his house in Chicago Heights, so I took him up on the offer. We hit another bar down by the art show and said hi to JMS' buddy and headed back to his place stopping at another place close to where he lives for a couple more beers and some visual stimulation of the skin kind. Cooked up some brats at his place and drank some more PBR and crashed out. Woke up this morning to some pouring rain (Skid Row) and looked at the radar. We went and grabbed some breakfast that was outstanding while we waited for the weather to pass. The rain let up and I hauled ass back to Madison...
The ride down...inspired by Max's videos...
Some bikes outside...
Some art...none of Jeff Wrights stuff was for sale...
The crowd...
JMS' rad Marmaduke dog...
Whatever other pics I took are out on my Flickr here.
The end.

In case you haven't seen it already, there's a really great interview with Ian Barry on BikeEXIF.

10-10-10
So I get a text from Steve-O..."101010 ride. Meet at haus at noon. Nothin special, just quick ride around town" about a week or two ago. My thought was just a few of us cruising around Madison and grabing a couple beers and calling it a day. I talk to Tom at the dog park that morning and mention it to him to see if he is interested. He's game so I meet at his house a little before noon. We pass Ben at the Northside shopping place and laugh at him for being a farmer and after a little running around we finally find Steve-O and Corey's shop and pull into this...
This is a cut off view, there were probably another 10 or 20 bikes not in the picture. I kind of hesitated a little thinking we were riding into a motorcycle gang parking lot as we pulled in. Met up with Steve-o and we get a tour of the shop by Steve-o and Corey who are super nice dudes. They have tons of projects going on both car and motorcycles. Corey is almost done with a very cool Suzuki and has a '78 ironhead he has waiting on the burner to chop this winter that he picked up for 750.00. They give us beer and offer up bacon sandwiches. We slam the beer and get ready to roll. For the first time amongst friends, I was not the red headed step child with a non-Jap bike. All Harley's, most vintage/evo's or hardtailed modern Sportsters. Apparently they make this ride every year, but always 08-08-08, 09-09-09...next year 11-11-11...oh man. About 2 miles out...Corey's shovel has an issue...
A little roadside repair...and we're off again. Ride out to Riley's near Verona and have a drink, talk shit and meet new friends. We head out for Mount Horeb for gas then to New Glarus for another beer. I've never riden with that many people...dudes blocking roads so we could cross intersections and shit. It was alot of fun though. Perfect weather and alot of super nice people. I'll be there next year for sure!

couple more...
No shortage of sleeze in SF...
Buddah chillin in the Japanese botanical garden, golden gate park. (where we were accosted by fuck-tard wanna be hippy pan-handlers, it's right off of Haight st...)
San Francisco motorcyle police. For real. Dr 650's.
san fran
Just a couple of randoms. It was a great trip, very fast, but excellent. Could not possibly see everything we wanted to in the short time we were there. We mostly walked, covered LOTS of miles, and took plenty of busses. Crossed the GOlden Gate bridge on foot, that was about a 15 mile walking day, it wrecked us for the remainder of the trip, but it was worth it.

Made it...
to San Fran. Holy shit, what a long day yesterday. Despite the fact we paid FULL price for our tickets, the plane leaving Madison was delayed two and a half hours, thus making us miss our connecting flite in Min. We were then put on standby for the next flight out and somehow, still not sure how, made it on (sat apart..).
I am on a cpu in the hotels lobby, it's five bucks for 15 minutes, so this one is quick. Today I'll get some pics and post 'em up. So far it's cool, we're in a seedy area (really seedy), but we like that. THe tenderloin district.
Heading out to Fishermans Warf then the golden Gate soon, prob take a boat to Sausalito maybe??
I'll report back soon. I miss you all.
