Sometimes at work...

...I get to mill a keyway on one of these, and I like it. In the fantasy version, I'm wearing a flat cap and smoking a Lucky, and my boss is dead.

What a beautiful logo. Back when America was fat and frivolous beauty still had a place in mechanical design.

Sometimes I look at the shapes of old mixers, drill presses, vacuum cleaners and especially old Bridgeports and wonder why they went to the trouble to cast such beautiful shapes into everything, especially industrial equipment. Then other times I wonder why they don't bother to now. At all. Not even a little.
