Its made out of a material called Sintra (or trovicel), lots of signs are made of it. it's about 4mm thick and is kind of like PVC. Thus being able to heat and bend it with a heat gun. The scrap chunk I had was white, so I put some heavy black matte vinyl on it. It's pretty ghetto, but beat working.
